For more than 30 years, Cap on the Wall have been bringing our own style of Irish traditional and folk music to stages across Northern Ireland and beyond.
From intimate concerts in our hometown of Bangor to some of Belfast's biggest stages, recent years have given us the opportunity to perform at a fantastic range of events and venues.
Belfast Fleadh 2026 – City Hall Gig Rig
One of the highlights of 2026 was taking to the City Hall Gig Rig during the Belfast Fleadh. With Belfast city centre filled with musicians, dancers and visitors from around the world, it was an incredible opportunity to perform right in the heart of the city.
Playing to the large crowd gathered in front of Belfast City Hall was a fantastic experience and a memorable part of an unforgettable week of traditional music.
Waterfront Hall
Performing at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast gave us the chance to bring Cap on the Wall to one of Northern Ireland's best-known concert stages.
It was a very different setting from many of our regular performances and a great opportunity to showcase our music as part of a much larger concert production.
Picnic in the Park
Ards CCE
The showcase also features performances alongside the musicians of Ards CCE, bringing together a large group of traditional musicians on stage.
Fiddles, whistles, flutes, guitars, banjos and other traditional instruments combine to create the sound of a full Irish traditional ensemble, celebrating both the music itself and the community of musicians that surrounds it.
This is one of the things we particularly enjoy about larger shows — getting the opportunity to perform alongside so many talented musicians.
Lauren Smyth Academy
We have also had the pleasure of performing alongside dancers from the Lauren Smith Academy, with Lauren Smith herself also taking part in performances.
Lauren has danced with Riverdance, bringing that same level of precision, energy and professionalism to the stage. Performing alongside Lauren and dancers from the academy allows us to combine live traditional music with high-quality Irish dance, creating a much more dynamic and engaging show for audiences.
These performances work particularly well as part of concerts, weddings and special events, where live music and dance can be brought together as part of the overall experience.
Irish Dancing
Our Irish dancing performances feature a wide range of champion Irish dancers from different schools across Ulster, bringing together some of the region’s most talented performers.
With dancers from different backgrounds and schools taking part, each performance can offer something slightly different while maintaining the energy, precision and excitement associated with top-level Irish dance.
Combined with live traditional music, it creates a powerful showcase of Irish music and dance that works particularly well for concerts, weddings and special events.
Céilí Dancing & Weddings
It doesn't always have to be a concert.
One of our favourite parts of playing weddings is getting the guests involved themselves. Céilí dancing is a brilliant way of bringing everyone onto the dance floor, including people who may never have tried Irish dancing before.
With the dances explained and called on the night, everyone can take part. It creates plenty of laughs, gets different generations dancing together and can turn into one of the most memorable parts of a wedding reception.
Live traditional music, céilí dancing and Irish dance displays can all be incorporated into a wedding package, allowing each event to be tailored to the couple and their guests.
